Denim Upcycling: Turn denim into art

Let me take you on an adventure to create something truly personal, and unique - something that pushes the limits of your skills as a dressmaker. Together, we will use a myriad of jeans, clothes, bits, bobs, and a bit of bonkers to transform the mundane into art. I can show you the techniques I use to take jeans apart, how to use each part the best way, and to ensure nothing is wasted. You and I will collaborate on a piece you want to see come together – feel free to review my gallery or Instagram for ideas.

• As many old jeans, non-stretch, as you can bring (the more complex what you want to make, the more we will need.

• Examples of things that inspired you for the piece, sentimental clothing you may want to utilize with the piece, etc

• 8 hours, broken up as needed. Additional time can be arranged
  One student maximum

Provided:

• Mechanical /digital sewing machine

• Overlocker

• Basic thread colours

• Scissors, pens, pins, rulers

• Embroidery patches

• Buttons, beads, rivets, etc

• Printed cotton fabrics
